Rüdesheim and Romantic middle Rhine Valley

 Rüdesheim,
is located in the middle of the Rheingau wine-producing
region of Germany and above the village stands the Niederwald Monument. This
monument celebrates Germany‘s unity after the Napoleonic wars of 1870-1871.
The main figure is that of Germania, the classical mythic female figure
representing Germany.
Any why is the Rhine so beautiful? Over the centuries the poets and artists
have written about the Rhine river and the beautiful scenery and the fact that
the river is basically untouched from the time that the Romans populated this
valley two thousand years ago.
Our
program Bicycle Tour Rüdesheim to Koblenz
- Rüdesheim - Arrival
After your arrival at your hotel in Rudesheim, depending on
your travel arrangements, we will welcome you at your hotel with your
bicycle. Afterwards, you will have time for sightseeing in Rudesheim. You
can visit the Niederwald Monument either by foot, by car or by cable car.
This monument stands above the village and celebrates Germany‘s unity
after the Neopoloconic wars of 1870-187. The main figure is that of
Germania, the classical mytic female figure representing Germany. The
marvelous view of the Rheinland-Pflaz across the river is surely one of the
most beautiful in the world.
- Rüdesheim - Boppard 42 kilometers
In the morning after breakfast you will take a small ferry
boat across the Rhine river to the village of Bingen where you will cycle
directly on the Rhine river towards Boppard. This section of the Rhine river
is very narrow. The river is only eight hundred twenty feet wide and is know
as the Hole of Bingen. You will then cycle thru the Loreley valley to
Boppard. Your overnight accomodation will be in the charming village of
Boppard.
- Boppard - Koblenz 32 kilometers
Today after breakfast you will continue your ride along the
Rhine river to the historic city of Koblenz Germany where the Mosel river
meets the Rhine river. This so called Deutsches Eck (German corner) is truly
a sight to behold. You can also make a visit to the imposing
eleventh-century Ehrenbreitstein Fortress across the Rhine which is very
close to the Deutsches Eck. In the evening you can remember the beautiful
experience of the bicycle route with a glass of wine in one of the beautiful
parks along the Rhine or in a historical wine restaurant in the old part of
the city of Koblenz.
- Koblenz Departure
After your breakfast your beautiful bicycle vacation will
end. From Koblenz it is only one hour by train or car to the Frankfurt
airport.
