flat goes it to the Mosel along. Here one of the most well-known areas of
cultivation of wine of Germany already comes. In the old ferry tower in
Schweich you can make a good break. Mehring has the reconstruction of the
Roman mansion Rustica, which you should look at yourself. In Trittenheim a
wine didactic exhibition informs about the working life of the winegrower,
also about to the Mosel domestic wine parts and vine cultivation.
Overnight accomodation in Trittenheim. Here in Trittenheim your accomodation
is on a wine farmers home, and you enjoy a special wine test with typical
wine from the Mosel valley in the wine farmers wineceller.
- Zeltingen
The comfortable cycle track on
which you comfortably cycle, follows the Mosel, and the bicycle rolls nearly
from alone after Neumagen-Drohn, to the oldest wine place of Germany. Here
in Neumagen-Drohn a Roman stone relief shows the famous wine ship. Because
already the old Romans transported their wine on the Mosel with ships. In
Piesport you can visit a reconstructed Roman Kelteranlage. At noon it is
most beautifully natural time for an expanded break, on the market place of
Bernkastel Kues, and also an expanded walk in the old and pretty village,
with old frame work houses. The finish of the daily stage will be today in
Zeltingen. Overnight accomodation in or near Zeltingen.

A good wine hill after the
other one accompanies today your way to the Mosel. Kroever naked ass, "Kröver
Nacktarsch", a special name, which one cannot translate so completely
into English, is not only because of its special name world well-known. In
Traben Trarbach you have opportunity to cost once of it. Enjoy you
afterwards a relaxed ship tour on the Mosel. To a break in Enkirch, the best
sightseeing of the framework architecture of the Mosel, you come to Zell.

also "Rothenburg to the Mosel" called. Here you must make an

which you should see absolutely from the inside, It is appropriate above
Cochem, make your bicycle a break, because it is only a short footpath to
the Reichsburg, in its inside is a museum, where one can discover many
historical things of theMiddle Age. And Cochem offers afterwards with its
historical old part of town the possibility of making a break. After the
break it continues to go then still much better on the bicycle to Treis -
Karden.
- Koblenz / Boppard
Today you should drive to the
castle Eltz, it are only a short piece of the Mosel far away, there can you
in a very informative guidance much experience over the Middle Ages and the
life from the middle age. The last kilometers to Koblenz slide only in such
a way there. The "Deutsches Eck" at the meeting from mother Mosel
and father Rhine naturally a perfect place for a break. But also the Kurfuerstliche Schloß, and the Festung
Ehrenbreistein at the opposite Rhine bank are worth an inspection.
Afterwards you ride now in the romantic middle Rhine Valley to Boppard.
Boppard has a lot to offer in many respects both to residents and
guests. In the course of history, all kinds of people have felt at home here,
whether Celts, Romans or Franconians. All of them have left their mark on
the 2000 year-old history of the town and at every turn there is witness in
stone of their presence. The charming, unmistakable natural beauty of
Boppard and its surroundings as well as the numerous monuments to its
culture and history evoking memories of the different epochs of its history
are called to mind as we take a walk through the town.
- Rüdesheim
Today you follow now with
your bicycle the romantic middle rhine. The valley from the rhine is now very smal, only the rocks left and
right, the rhine, the train and the street. "A ship of stone, eternally
afloat upon the Rhine, and eternally lying at anchor before the town of
Pfalzgrafen" - thus Victor Hugo - this is the castle, Pfalz, formerly
Pfalzgrafenstein, and one of the rarest of castle creations in the world.
The countryside here along the river valley with the little town of Kaub and
Burg Gutenfels above it has still maintained much of its romantic beauty. Visite maybe the
old castle Reichenstein, and then you come to Bingen.
After Bingen you changed the bank from the river rhine
with ferry boat to Rüdesheim. In the afternoon you
have time to visite Rüdesheim, and the Niederwald
Monument. The monument symbolizes the re-establishment
of the German Kaiser Reich (Imperial Kingdom) which
was a direct result of the outcome of the
Franco-Prussian War of 1870 - 1871 which led to the
unification of Germany under Prussian hegemony as an
imperial monarchy. The main figure is that of
Germania, the classical mythic female figure
representing Germany One can reach the Niederwald
Heights on foot, by car, or by cable car from
Ruedesheim and Assmannshausen. The marvelous view of
the Rheinland-Pfalz across the river from the monument
is surely one of the most beautiful in the world,
particularly at dawn, dusk and sunset, and also by
night especially at full moon.
