Our program Mosel Valley Bicycle Tour B

• Konz
  After your arrival at your hotel in Konz, depending on your travel arrangements either by plane or by train, we will welcome you at your hotel with your bicycle. After briefing you about the technology of the bike and answering any questions that you might have about the Mosel bike tour, you will have time to rest and enjoy a glass of wine in the wine bar. Overnight accommodation with breakfast in Konz.
  
  
• Konz / Echternach in Luxembourg 54 kilometers
  Today you will cycle to the north along the Mosel river about 10 kilometers to a small ferry boat which will take you to the village of Wasserbilling. You will then cycle the romantic Sauer river to Echternach which is located in the state of Luxembourg. After an expanded lunch in this picturesque village you will cycle on the Luxemburger side of the Sauer and return to your hotel in Konz for the night.
  
  
• Konz - Trier / Trittenheim 50 kilometers
  In the morning after breakfast you will cycle to the bank of the Mosel river on a completely developed bike path to Trier which is the oldest city in Germany. The Romans founded the city around 16 BC. Many buildings from that time are still standing open for you to enjoy from the impressive city gate of Porta Nigra to the Romans baths. Your overnight accommodation will be in a wine farmers home and in the evening you will enjoy a special wine tasting in the wine farmer's own wine cellar and experience several of the different wines from the Mosel region
  
  
• Trittenheim - Zeltingen 38 kilometers
  After a restful night, you will cycle through typical wine villages and see the remains of the Roman period at Neurmagen-Dhron , one of Germany's oldest wine villages. At noon you can take time to enjoy the historic city of Bernkastel-Kues. In this pretty village you will view many of the half-timbered houses which are so popular throughout Germany. Your overnight accommodation will be in or near the village of Zeltingen.
  
  
• Zeltingen - Zell 38 kilometers
  Today the Mosel river winds through the countryside and you will follow the river to the city of Zell. This town is well known for its vineyard.. Zell's Black Cat. In 1863 three merchants, about to purchase local wine, were very uncertain on which cask to buy. So the tasting went on and on until the winegrower's black cat leapt onto one of the casks, arched its back threateningly and hissed at anyone who came close. Taking this as a sign, the decision was made and a famous name was born. Today, 80% of this production is sold outside of Germany. Overnight accommodation will be in or near the village of Zell.
  
  
• Zell - Treis-Karden 38 kilometers
  After breakfast you will cycle a winding ride through very romantic scenery with impressive steep vineyards along the western side of the river for most of the morning. You will cross the river just before Beilstein to visit this medieval village. Then on to Cochem where you will see one of the grandest sights on the entire Mosel, the Castle Reichsburg. It is only a short walk to this hilltop castle which dominates the hillside above the town. After your break in Cochem, you will continue to cycle and enjoy the river landscape to the village of Treis-Karden where you will spend the night.
  
  
• Treis-Karden-Koblenz 37 kilometers
  Today you should cycle to the castle Eltz which is only a short distance from the Mosel. This spectacular unruined castle is situated in the middle of a steep gorge and is truly one of Europe's most breathtaking sights. Then you will continue your ride along the Mosel to the historic city of Koblenz Germany where Mother Mosel meets Father Rhine. The meeting of two great rivers is truly a sight to behold. In the evening you can remember the beautiful experience of the bicycle route with a glass of wine in one of the beautiful parks along the Rhine or in a historical wine restaurant in the old part of the city of Koblenz.
  
  
• Koblenz
  After breakfast your beautiful bicycle vacation will end. From Koblenz it is only one hour by train or car to the international Frankfurt airport.
